I say this with a heavy heart because there are some good people who I like who work there, but I give them one star because I can not give them zero. Extremely unprofessional, does not follow up, to the point of costing me thousands of dollars in taxes. I would not recommend S&K to do anything tax related, and especially not if it requires anything more than just pressing send and walking away.

I’ve always prided myself in using Turbo Tax to do my taxes for my business and personal tax returns. As my small business has grown, I thought I should consult a CPA. Michael Westwick was recommended by a friend, so I had a conversation with him late last year about my taxes. He recommended I switch my business to an LLC and make a late election to file as an S-Corp for 2018. We did and we were accepted in early 2019 after the IRS re-opened from the shutdown. This move saved me about $15,000+ in self employment taxes for 2018. I always followed all of the prompts in Turbo Tax and took every deduction that I was able to, but working with Michael has made me realize that you can change the rules of the game and fall into different categories which result in different questions (and deductions and tax advantages). I still can't believe how little taxes I paid for last year (both for business and personal). I highly recommend Michael and his team, they are real pros who know what they are doing. They have world class service too... quick communication and their online portal makes uploading and receiving documents a breeze. WOW!

I've worked with Max S. and Nathan G. for a couple of years now (total accounting care) and as a small business owner in Northern VA I have a million things to worry about every day; however, my taxes and books are not one of them. These guys are a huge breath of fresh air, they are extremely responsive and show that they truly care about my company and the best interest of it. I have had a couple of terrible experiences with accountants in the past which scared me off for a while. So glad I found S&K and got Max and Nathan. Thank you S&K team!

Nothing but great things to say about Michael T. Westwick, CPA. My wife and I both run our own business, have w-2 jobs, plus my out of state income. Michael is always responsive during the year about my tax questions and goes over every detail come tax time to assure us the best return. I was sure we’d owe for 2019 and instead we are getting a satisfactory refund from state and fed. Highly recommended.
