Given the busy season, finding the time during weekend was challenging enough. So I made an online appointment way ahead of the time to meet an advisor (Suely Belk) in person at the office. I had already uploaded the documents online in advance, and arrived on time for my appointment for 1 pm Saturday. Suely Belk did not bother to come out to greet us/ nor let us know she was running late with previous appointment even tho we were waiting in the front lobby. Only when I had asked about our appointment at 1:15, the front desk staff let me know Ms Belk was running late with 3 files to return with previous customer. After checking in, the front desk staff assured that we should be going in pretty soon as the previous customer "just checked out" and "Ms Belk is wrapping up". That was already 1:20-1:25. Close to waiting 35-40 mins, there was still no update nor the agent taking us for our appointment. My husband and I asked for different agent to help us. Front desk agent asked us to leave the file despite our appointment was requested IN PERSON since we needed to file the tax in person. After waiting 45-50 minutes, the front desk agent took us to another tax advisor (Tina). Tina reviewed the documents and asked questions. Then she let us know she cannot file our taxes now because she has next customer who made an appointment. She suggested that we leave the files and our tax return will be available in a week. This was already an hour after our appointment. When I asked for escalation point of contact, the front staff checked in w/ Suely Belk again. and then she said she is available now. Still. there was no Ms Belk in person to greet/ nor apologize. I left a note for escalation, and called both office manager and front staff agent's boss (Bianca Thompson). Biana called the following Monday afternoon acknowledging the unprofessional manner of Ms Belk, and said she will escalate to HR Block regional office. Although she confirmed to call back within an hour, I still haven't received a single follow up when it's been a week already. We had planned our time, and day around the appointment that was made in advance. It was not acceptable that certain customers' time and day was honored and respected but ours was totally ignored with disrespect in most unprofessional manner. I trusted HR Block advisors/ agent's professionalism to be their customer for 10+ years, but I am very disappointed to say that this professionalism and care for customer was not for everyone.

Block Advisors and Michael Boshra made my tax filing this year pretty effortless. I called and made a phone appointment with Michael so that we could ensure I had all the necessary information to bring to the office. Then I deposited the forms and documents at the office. A few days later I made a second phone appointment with Michael to review my account and to make electronic payments. Now I can retrieve my forms and documents at my leisure. I live quite a distance from Michael's office; therefore being able to conduct business from my home makes Block Advisors the easiest choice for me.

The guy was nice and friendly but I could barely understand my tax “expert”. I had to help him fill out the forms and at one point he even asked me “what do you think this means”. In addition, my wife and I had questions about how to amend our return and improve for next year and he had no suggestions, he literally had me guessing for improvements. We had to end our phone call because we did not know what he was saying.

Our Advisor at Tax time is wonderful but she is not available during the year. It would be very helpful if based on our finances if we could get in-year advice to minimize out of pocket expenses like we had this year so that it does not happen again. We owed over $8,000 to the IRS for 2018 !!!
